Safeguarding
The safety and welfare of every student is our first priority. Everyone who works with ABC students is trained, checked and knows what to do if they have a concern.
Our commitment
ABC Education Group UK follows Keeping Children Safe in Education and the Prevent duty. Our policies apply to all staff, host families, group leaders and anyone working with ABC students. We review them every year, and our Young Learner centres are inspected under British Council Accreditation UK.
How we keep students safe
- Safer recruitment, with Enhanced DBS checks and references before anyone starts
- Safeguarding and Prevent training for all staff, with refreshers every season
- Host families visited and inspected in person, with every adult DBS checked
- Risk assessments for every centre, activity and excursion
- Private fostering notifications for under-16s staying 28 days or more
- Clear rules on online safety, bedrooms, one-to-one contact and supervision
